"Happy" Mothers' Day?

How strange that Mother's day, May 9, of all days marks the 50th anniversary of the birth control pill. For some, this means freedom.  Freedom from...becoming a mother. But, did you know that just because you take "the pill", doesn't mean you haven't become a mother? In fact, the pill, which is so widely accepted even in Christianity, does not always prevent ovulation necessary for conception. What does this mean? It means that when ovulation still occurs, conception can still occur. What happens after this? Well, the progestin in the pill causes the lining of the uterus to be thinned and shriveled making a hostile environment for the baby to implant.  So, what then happens to this baby?  It dies.  Abortion takes place. Even those who dispise abortion, may be unknowingly allowing this horrific event in their own lives. But this must be okay because we are unaware, right? Wrong!! A life is still a life, and it is precious. Psalm 127:3 says, "Lo, Children are an heritage of the Lord and the fruit of the womb is his reward." I pray that many would become aware of what the pill does to precious lives. Not to mention the attitude that says, No! I don't want a baby, at least not right now! Why wouldn't we embrace the reward  of children if God wants to bless us with them? Yes, I said bless. Each child is a blessing from God. May we rejoice with each life brought to us by a Holy God!  Happy Mothers' Day!!

  1. I always thought of the pill/any birth control as just wrong because "God openeth and closeth the womb" and because the bible teaches that children are a blessing, but I actually found out about this part of it a few months ago.
    It's no better than abortion.
I wonder how many people don't know.
